What Your Cat Needs Before Boarding
Every reputable cattery requires an up-to-date F3 vaccination — covering feline herpesvirus, feline calicivirus, and feline panleukopaenia — before they will accept your cat.
- Most require vaccination within the last 12 months
- A booster given the week before drop-off is not enough — immunity takes time to establish
- Book your cat's vaccination appointment in May or early June at the latest
Why It Matters More This Autumn
April and May 2026 are peak cat flu season — the time of year when catteries see higher rates of upper respiratory infections brought in by new boarders.
- A cat current on its F3 is significantly more protected than one with an overdue booster
- It also reduces the risk of bringing something home to other cats in your household after boarding
If you're unsure when your cat was last vaccinated, call us now rather than in June when it may be too late to establish full immunity before the July window.
Two Things to Book Now
- F3 booster — call Ramsgate Veterinary Hospital to book for May or early June
- Cattery place — Ramsgate Veterinary hospital also provides Cat boarding services.
We provide a vaccination certificate at the time of your appointment, which you'll need at cattery drop-off.
