Ramsgate Vet, Your Vet near Sans Souci
Vet clinic on your doorstep. Walk or drive to 231 Rocky Point Rd in under 5 minutes. In-house diagnostics, experienced vets, open till 7pm weekdays.

Sans Souci sits on a peninsula between Botany Bay and Kogarah Bay. The French name translates to 'without worry', which is fitting for a suburb where mornings are spent walking dogs along Lady Robinsons Beach, afternoons involve sailing or kayaking, and the pace is slower than suburbs closer to the city. Many residents here have been in the same house for decades. Others are retirees who moved for the water views and the permanent holiday feel. Dogs get walked along the foreshore at sunrise and sunset. Cats stay indoors watching boats through the windows. When something's wrong, it shows up quickly. The dog who normally bounds toward the water hesitates. The cat who always sits by the window stops moving to that spot. They're off their food or drinking more, or they're just not themselves.
Ramsgate Veterinary Hospital is less than 1km from central Sans Souci, about 5 minutes by car or a short walk along Rocky Point Road. The clinic has full surgical theatres, diagnostic imaging, and a team that includes visiting specialists who operate on-site. It's built for the kind of comprehensive care that waterfront suburbs with established pet populations need.
The Ramsgate Vet difference for Sans Souci pets
Visiting specialists operate on-site
When your pet needs specialist surgery or advanced diagnostics, the specialists come here. Orthopaedic surgeons, ophthalmologists, and internal medicine specialists consult and operate at this clinic. You're not driving across Sydney for a referral appointment. The specialist works in the same theatre your regular vet uses, with the same nursing team assisting. Post-operative care happens here too, which means continuity from diagnosis through recovery. Two surgical theatres, full anaesthetic monitoring
The clinic runs two fully equipped surgical theatres with multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring, surgical tables, and recovery facilities. Routine procedures like desexing and dental work happen in one theatre while complex surgeries run in the other. The setup allows the clinic to handle multiple cases per day without compromising on monitoring or sterility. Every surgery includes pre-anaesthetic blood work, IV catheter placement, and continuous monitoring throughout the procedure.Emergency care during business hours
Walk-in emergencies are accepted during open hours. The clinic has oxygen therapy equipment, IV fluid pumps, emergency drug stocks, and a team trained in critical care stabilisation. For acute cases that arrive during business hours, triage happens immediately and treatment begins while you're still in the room. After-hours emergencies go to SASH Alexandria or Sydney University Veterinary Teaching Hospital, both about 20 minutes away.Cat boarding with separate accommodation
The clinic runs a cat boarding facility separate from the main hospital ward. Each cat gets their own enclosure with bedding, litter, and elevated perches. The boarding area is quiet, climate-controlled, and away from the barking and foot traffic of the main clinic. For Sans Souci residents who travel frequently or who need somewhere safe to board their cat during renovations, this setup works better than leaving them at home with a pet sitter checking in once a day.
Loved by the community, here in Sans Souci and everywhere else.
I have recently moved to the area and needed to take my reactive little chihuahua to a new vet. RVH has been the first Vet we've gone to that's pointed out my little dogs heart problems. This team are all angels sent from heaven, I can't thank them enough for treating my boy with urgency and truly going above and beyond. After receiving quite confronting news regarding my dog during my first visit to RVH, these angels have shown nothing but kindness, empathy and compassion to my dog and I. My dogs primary care team has been Nurse Jess and Dr Marnie with v special mention to Dr Tiffany <3
Treated my cat
Great experience for our cat
We can't thank the team at Ramsgate enough for everything they did for our dog Biscuit during his TPLO surgery and recovery.
From the very first consultation right through to the surgery, every single person we dealt with was caring and incredibly helpful. We'd been told by other vets that sedation would be required to diagnose Biscuits injury, so it was a huge relief that the Ramsgate team could assess him properly and diagnose the injury without sedation. They took the time to clearly explain the injury, the surgery, what to expect afterwards, and answered every question we had.
The day of the surgery was stressful for us, but the team made it so much easier. They explained the whole process before we left Biscuit in their care and kept us updated throughout the day. We received calls letting us know when the surgery was about to begin, when it had finished, and how Biscuit was doing afterwards. Those updates meant a lot and gave us real peace of mind during what was a very worrying day.
When we collected Biscuit, the team carefully went through everything we needed to know for his recovery. They made sure we felt comfortable and confident about caring for him at home and never made us feel rushed. Since then, all of his follow-up appointments have gone smoothly, and he has been improving day by day.
A huge thank you to everyone at Ramsgate for taking such great care of Biscuit. It's obvious how much you all genuinely care about the animals you treat, and we're incredibly grateful for the support and expertise you've shown throughout the whole process 🙂

We only visited there twice while visiting Sydney . We were pleasantly surprised by the level of professionalism and kindness 🤗🤗we received both times. I use hearing aids and the vet was so thorough and patient with me during the consultation. We will definitely be back …
Thank you to Dr Clarence for everything you’ve done for Cali. Thank you for making the time to see him when no one else would. I was getting married on Saturday when I noticed something seriously wrong with our puppy Cali. I called numerous clinics and no one would take him on short notice. Dr Clarence and Jess when out of their way and instantly agreed to see him. They looked after him while I had my wedding while giving me constant updates during the day. Amazing clinic with amazing people! Thank you so much. Forever grateful to them as Cali is now home with us and in high spirits again.

Understanding Sans Souci pets
The clinic sees a lot of long-term patients. Dogs who've been coming here since they were puppies, now seniors with chronic conditions being managed over years. The vets track trends over time rather than reacting to individual symptoms. They know which treatments worked before, which medications your dog tolerates, and what baseline bloodwork looks like for comparison. That continuity is the reason many Sans Souci residents drive past closer clinics to keep coming here.
